What we do

Costume fitting

We stage the work of Shakespeare, his contemporaries and the most exciting new writers and performers of today, making every play an event.

We have trained generations of the best theatre makers since we were founded in 1961 and we continue to nurture the talent of the future.

Our work begins its life at our Stratford-upon-Avon workshops and theatres and we share it with audiences across the world through:

  • Touring and residencies
  • Cinema broadcasts
  • Education programmes
  • Online activity
  • Who's Who

Biographies of key people and information on how our company is structured and run.

  • New plays

We work with new writers to commission and produce new plays on anything feminism, race or religion to the nature of modern America or the politics of football.

  • Key facts and figures

Key facts about how we make theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon for audiences here and around the world.

  • Finance and funding

Information on our annual turnover, income and funding, including where our money comes from.

  • Annual review

Highlights from the financial year, including the launch of 'Live from Stratford-upon-Avon' cinema and schools' broadcasts.
