Terms and conditions
December 2013

1. The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over.
2. Employees of the Royal Shakespeare Company and their immediate families, or anyone else professionally connected with the RSC or this competition are not eligible to enter.
3. To enter the competition answer the question: How many times does Shakespeare mention the word 'merry' in his plays?
4. Email us your answer to xmascompetition@rsc.org.uk.
5. Only one entry per person is permitted.
6. The closing date for entries is mid day on 24 December 2013.
7. The prize is a Hamlet pendant and cufflink set from the RSC online shop.
8. No purchase is necessary.
9. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are incomplete, delayed, damaged or not received for whatever reason.
10. The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. The approximate value of the prize is £32.
11. The winner must have answered the question correctly and will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn after the closing date from all correct entries received.
12. Our decision in respect of competition winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
13. Winners will be notified by 30 January 2014 by email. Prizes will be sent by postal mail. A list of winners will be available at www.rsc.org.uk or by sending a stamped addressed envelope to [Tamsin Bishton, Web content manager, RSC, 3 Chapel Lane, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6BB.
14. The winner may be required to take part in publicity resulting from this competition.
15. If the prize is not confirmed by 28 February 2014 we reserve the right to withdraw the prize or to award it to another eligible entrant.
16. The personal data you provide will only be used to conduct this competition and to contact you about the RSC's activities. Your data will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy (available at www.rsc.org.uk).
17. The Promoter of the competition is The Royal Shakespeare Company (registered charity no. 212481) whose address is Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Waterside, Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 6BB.

3. To enter the competition answer the question: Shakespeare often uses the imagery of Winter in his plays. But how often does he mention Christmas?

5. Only one entry per person is permitted.
6. The closing date for entries is mid day on 24 December 2013.
7. The prize is one year long associate membership to the RSC worth £18.
8. No purchase is necessary.
