Talks take place on stage after the performance. The event lasts for approximately 40 minutes and is free to performance ticket holders.

Schools events

Theatre days
School groups booking for a matinee performance are able to attend a pre-show session with members of the acting company and creative team. Participants are guided through some of the key interpretive choices made in the current production.

Sessions run from 10 - 11am plus post-show discussion. Cost £3 per student plus cost of performance ticket.

Pre show workshops
Designed to give teachers and students an insight into the production they are seeing, these half day practical workshops are created in line with curriculum requirements for speaking and listening, reading and writing across all the Key Stages.

Workshops for Julius Caesar are available on Tuesday 3 November. Two workshops are available on each day, either 10am - 12pm or 1.30pm - 3.30pm (times can be flexible to fit into a school day). The RSC practitioner will travel to your school (maximum travel time 30 mins from city centre). Cost £180 (£165 Education members) Maximum 32 students.

Sixth form conference
This afternoon conference on Julius Caesar is devised and delivered in collaboration with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

Sixth form conference

Sessions will look at original performance conditions and 20/21 Century versions contrasted with the current production, the role and challenges of the director in staging Shakespeare today and at key interpreative choices made within this production.

Members of the acting company and creative team will contribute to sessions giving insight into rehearsal techniques and choices used to access Shakespeare’s language and discover textual meaning. The afternoon culminates with an opportunity to see the current production of Julius Caesar.

1 - 4pm, at the Theatre Royal, followed by an evening performance. For English and Theatre Studies students aged 16+. Tickets cost £7 per person plus the cost of a performance ticket.
