Rosalind's Tree

Rosalind's Tree

Colonnade, Swan Theatre

From 9 March

Created from everyday clothing, this display is inspired by Shakespeare's play As You Like It and Rosalind's costume disguise as a man. Unable to act on their feelings and exiled in the Forest of Arden, Rosalind and Orlando become entangled in a game of love and mistaken identity.

Using male and female clothing, the branches and fruit of Rosalind's Tree twist and dance together, reflecting on the role of costume, gender and whether clothes do really make the man, or should that be woman?
