RSC's Big Amateur Theatre Makers Weekend
Join us for a tailor made weekend for amateur theatre makers. This special event offers:
- Four skills workshops
- A ticket to our production of
Love's Labour's Won in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre
- Director master class
- A backstage tour
Perfect for those wishing to develop their performance skills and learn more about how our actors prepare, rehearse and perform, the event promises to be an unforgettable theatre experience working in our own rehearsal rooms and on stage.
Four workshops, led by RSC practitioners and industry professionals, will cover the following areas:
- Voice and Text
- Stage Combat
The sessions will focus on our approach to performing Shakespeare as well as looking at a wide range of performance techniques.
The workshops will be useful to anyone wishing to develop their performing skills for modern or classical productions, and all abilities and levels of experience are welcome. Participants must be aged 18 or over.
As part of the weekend, participants will have the chance to attend a master class with an RSC director and a tour backstage at our famous theatres. The price also includes a ticket to the evening performance of Love's Labour's Won on Saturday 25 October.
Venue: The Courtyard Theatre and the Clore Learning Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon.
Saturday 25 October 9.30am – 5pm (followed by theatre performance)
Sunday 26 October 9.30am – 6.30pm
Suitable for ages 18+
Tickets cost £200 per person (ticket price includes all the sessions listed above, as well as lunch and refreshments on both days. Accommodation is not included).

Those who have already participated in RSC Open Stages (our UK wide project engaging with amateur theatre makers) are very welcome and will be offered new workshops to further develop their skills. Please mention when booking.
