1884 Alfred Tate as Touchstone in the 1884 production, directed by Bernard Charles. The production opened in the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on 24 April 1884.

1879 This production was directed by Barry Sullivan, who also took the role of Jacques. The deer in the centre of the photo came from nearby Charlecote, and was killed and stuffed for the production.

1952 Orlando (Laurence Harvey) and Rosalind (Margaret Leighton) discuss the pros and cons of marriage, Act 4 Scene 1. The production was directed by Glen Byam Shaw and designed by Motley.

1957 Peggy Ashcroft as Rosalind with Richard Johnson as Orlando in Act 4, Scene 1. The production played in the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre and was directed by Glen Byam Shaw and designed by Motley.
1961 Vanessa Redgrave as Rosalind, directed by Michael Elliot, designed by Richard Negri. Redgrave received her first stage award for this production, which took place in the year the RSC was founded.

1968 Janet Suzman as Rosalind, directed by David Jones, designed by Timothy O'Brien.
When the production opened the previous year Rosalind was played by Dorothy Tutin and Suzman played Celia.

1973 Eileen Atkins as Rosalind in the 1973 production, directed by Buzz Goodbody in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon.

1977 As You Like It directed by Trevor Nunn, designed by John Napier. Rosalind (Kate Nelligan) questions Orlando (Peter McEnery) about his love poems, Act 3 Scene 2. The production played at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, then Aldwych Theatre, London.
1989 As You Like It directed by John Caird and designed by Ultz. Rosalind (Sophie Thompson) and Orlando (Jerome Flynn) banter about love, Act 4 Scene 1.
The production also featured Alan Cumming as Silvius. After playing in Stratford-upon-Avon, it transferred to the Barbican Theatre, London.

1996 Orlando (Liam Cunningham) debates marriage with Rosalind (Niamh Cusack) whilst Celia (Rachel Joyce) looks on, Act 4 Scene 1.
The company also included David Tennant (Touchstone), Joseph Fiennes (Silvius) and film actor Colin Farrell (Forest Lord). The production was directed by Stephen Pimlott and designed by Ashley Martin-Davies.
2000 This production of As You Like It was directed by Gregory Doran and designed by Kaffe Fassett and Niki Turner.
