Tarell Alvin McCraney is not only the director of our winter 2013 production of Antony and Cleopatra, he is also the person who created this radical edit of Shakespeare's story. Revolutionary Haiti in the 1800s is the new setting for our story. Here Tarell explains why he chose to move the play to this time and place and why it makes it so relevant for a modern audience.
