Theatre tours

Inside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre

A chance to visit to the backstage and front of house areas of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre before the theatre closes.

RSC Theatre Tours include an introduction to the colourful history of the company, an insight into the two theatres and a look at aspects of current productions.

As the Royal Shakespeare Company performs in a fully working theatre, each tour is a unique experience, and may include the opportunity to see backstage at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or the Swan Theatre.

The backstage section of the tour offers a wonderful glimpse behind the scenes at one of the busiest theatres in the world. With the theatres always full of activity, tours will vary according to the access available on the day (so it won't always possible to visit the auditorium if the technical crew are setting up there).

Booking tickets and running times

Tours run up twice daily at 1.30pm (11.30am on matinee days) and 5.30pm Monday - Friday, with an 11.30am tour on Saturday and tours at 12pm and 1pm on Sundays. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and cost £5.00 (£4.00 for concessions or groups of ten or more).

Advanced booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. To book, please call 0844 800 1114 or you can book online.
