- In the new auditorium
Actor and RSC Board member, Tim Pigott-Smith, took time out of his busy schedule to visit the site of the Royal Shakespeare and Swan Theatres.
It was the first time that Tim had been to the site since the demolition work began in 2007 and he spent a couple of hours with Project Director, Peter Wilson, talking about the progress on the new theatre and looking at the facilities for actors.

Tim gave the project a big thumbs up and commented, 'as I drove over the bridge and saw the theatre, the hairs went up on the back of my neck. It was an amazing experience to go on site as the project moves into its final year of construction. The ambition and scale of it are breathtaking. And it is clear, now, how the original building – emerging from its shell – is complemented by the new bits. The auditorium is thrilling. This building will be a new landmark for Stratford, and one which the town can be proud of. I can't wait to see it open'.
