Schoolchildren from four Stratford-upon-Avon schools are working with the RSC to find out what different groups in the community think about the Company and the need to change the theatre. The findings from the project will go towards a support pack for all schools to help them with their citizenship teaching.
The students aged eight to fifteen took part in schools workshops, a visit to the theatre to perform on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre stage and to look behind the scenes at the conditions the actors and crew work in. Each school will present their findings at an event in the Swan Theatre before the results are fed to the architects, Bennetts Associates.
