WELCOME

In March 2008 we launched Stand up for Shakespeare, our Manifesto for Shakespeare in schools. We asked you to sign up on line if you supported its recommendations for children and young people to have the best experience of Shakespeare by:
• Doing it on their feet
• Seeing it live
• Starting it earlier

The sign up period is now over.
We are delighted that we reached 14,348 signatures!

A big thank you to everyone who supported our campaign. We have enjoyed hearing about your experiences of Shakespeare both as children and adults, as teachers and students, and as theatre audiences and performers.

There are still many ways in which you can carry on Standing up for Shakespeare and whether you are a teacher, parent, grandparent or young person, we hope that you'll find something on these pages to inspire you. From lesson plans to ideas for special Shakespeare assemblies; from family activities to inspirational stories about how Shakespeare affected you, we hope there is something for everyone.
