About the author

Teaching Shakespeare: A history of teaching Shakespeare in England is written by Tracy Irish, Project Manager for Professional Development in the RSC Education department. Tracy was a teacher of English and Drama for 15 years and is the author of a series of books, The Shorter Shakespeare, published by Carel Press. In 2001, Tracy completed the MA in Shakespeare Studies at The Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham. She is currently studying part-time for a PhD in Shakespeare and Education at the University of Warwick.
