Royal Shakespeare Company, directed by Nancy Meckler.
One of Shakespeare's earliest plays, Romeo and Juliet has become an iconic romantic tragedy, as two innocent young lovers fall victim to family hatred and cruel destiny. Making their RSC debuts, Rupert Evans and Morven Christie take the title roles in Nancy Meckler's new production, which combines vivid imagery with the spoken word.
Nancy's RSC work includes her recent acclaimed production of The Comedy of Errors (RST) and House of Desires, staged as part of the Spanish Golden Age Season in the Swan Theatre.
Romeo and Juliet runs in repertoire at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon from 6 April - 14 October 2006.
