Royal Shakespeare Company directed by Marianne Elliott.
A lively showdown between the sexes unfolds in Shakespeare's farcical comedy. Beatrice, independent and forthright and Benedick, a self-confessed 'woman-hater', pass their time constantly goading and scorning each other. When they are thrown together to defend a friend's and family's honour, their true feelings begin to be revealed.
Marianne Elliot makes her RSC debut with Much Ado About Nothing. She is currently an Associate Director at the Royal Court. Recent productions include Stoning Mary for the Royal Court and Pillars of the Community for the National Theatre.
Tamsin Greig also makes her RSC debut playing Beatrice alongside Joseph Millson as Benedick. Tamsin's many TV appearances include Channel 4's Black Books, Green Wing (Comedy Awards for Best Actress) and Love Soup for the BBC.
Joseph returns to the RSC following his performance in the celebrated Spanish Golden Age Season. Both actors will also appear in King John.
Much Ado About Nothing runs in repertoire at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon from 11 May - 12 October 2006.
