The RSC has worked with thousands of teachers, students, policy makers and theater companies across the UK to explore new ways of making Shakespeare accessible to children in schools. Having witnessed inspirational teaching, the RSC has derived three clear principles about how to involve young people with Shakespeare:

- Do Shakespeare on your feet
We are now transplanting this philosophy and practice to US schools, working with American educators through a three-year partnership with Ohio State University, to enrich the education of thousands of schoolchildren in grades 1-12 across America.

In July 2011 the RSC performed its specially-designed a series of Young People’s Shakespeare plays to American audiences for the first time.
A three-year partnership between the RSC and OSU aims to raise the aspirations, achievements and literacy of children and young people.
