Our Transformed Theatres
Over the last three years the RSC has been transforming its Stratford-upon-Avon home, creating a more open and engaging building with exciting spaces in which to perform Shakespeare's work.
The project includes a 36 meter high tower, new exhibition spaces, new places to eat and drink, restored 1930s' features and improved front of house and circulation areas.
The centre of this transformation is the Royal Shakespeare Theatre auditorium, offering the promise of a changed relationship between actor and audience as its thrust stage steps out from the old proscenium arch and brings the furthest seats twice as close to the action.
