Costume

Who's this? Dominic Cooke is the director.

Context: If costume is to be authentic to a historical period this will involve not only the look and style of the clothes but also the choice of fabrics. Even the way they are fastened will need to be according to what was available at the time. Clothing may therefore be laced or held with a row of hooks and eyes with not a zip in sight.

Did you know? The V & A is the Victoria and Albert Museum in London which houses a rich collection of arts and crafts.

The Globe Theatre in London operates two styles of productions: 'original practices' where everything used is authentic to the Elizabethan period and 'modern practices' where the theatre is free to make use of modern techniques.
