Act 2 Scene 1

Who's this? Caitlin Mottram plays Helena, Oscar Pearce plays Demetrius.

This movie is in two sections:
Version 1 The scene in this production is playing
Version 2 the scene with no warmth

Context: At this stage Helena and Demetrius have no relationship; their status is quite out of balance. He is arrogant and aggressive in his behaviour towards her and needs to learn some humility; she has low self-esteem and needs to discover some sense of self-worth.

What do you think? Who's in control of this scene? How do you think it should be played?

Did you know? The word 'wood' used to mean 'mad'? When Demetrius says he is 'wood within this wood' he means he is being driven mad by not being able to find Hermia.
