The 1683 play was written by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. The RSC's production, directed by Nancy Meckler, was a new translation of the play by Catherine Boyle and was performed as part of the Spanish Golden Age season.
Sor Juana is the subject of Helen Edmundson's new play The Heresy of Love, which will play at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon from 2 February to 9 March 2012.
