Rehearsing Robin Hood

Teeth marks

January 3, 2012

Iris Roberts as Martin in The Heart of Robin HoodWell so much has happened since my last entry!!!

I am all better after my accident. It was more shock than anything to be honest... I managed to bang my face against a pole at the top of the slope making my nose bleed and taking off some of my front tooth. Needless to say it really really hurt. I was slightly bewildered as I came shooting down the slope. I thought 'carry on' but I was so afraid of what had happened I ran off I had no idea what had happened.

The crew backstage were great and Jondon (our company manager) took great care of me. Within our cast we have a dentist and a doctor so I was in safe hands!

I was back on the next day after a trip to the dentist -who did a marvellous job - so much so people didn't think anything had happened. Thank the lord. There are some very funny teeth marks on the bar at the top of the slope. They are a little warning to any actor who thinks its a fantastic idea to jump from the top to get more momentum.

Christmas was wonderful I went to my parents new house it is in the middle of nowhere I'm going to stay there for a while I think after this show finishes then go away somewhere.

My brother is in Egypt so I may pay him a visit. It's our final week of shows next week and I am so sad to say goodbye to this show. I have learnt a great deal.

Here is a scene from the show below. I have not really done much screen work - I had a really interesting time seeing how it all works. Dusthouse are genius.

Pure MAGIC. I hope and strongly suspect that yours was a piece of theatre that my 9 and 11 year old will never forget - I certainly won't. The cast, the set, the staging, the pathos, the humour...I can't remember having enjoyed something so much, or having been so utterly captivated, since I saw Romeo and Juliet aged 16, and that was quite a while ago! My only sadness is that there's no time to see it again. It was well worth 4 hours of travelling in wind and rain. Thank you!

Hey Iris, hows it going?

Just a quick message to say that my family and I came to see the show the other night and it was awesome. You were all great, and the best thing about it was that it was my two little nefews first visit to the theatre and they really loved it. The set was wonderful, and the story was told with emotion and fun. Well done, and good luck for the last few shows. You guys need to take it down to London!

Kieren from Rugby, Warwickshire.
