Rehearsing Robin Hood

Previews, injuries and being a man

November 25, 2011

Iris Roberts as Martin in rehearsalHello

Soooo... I am enjoying previews... There's one thing missing Our lovely Icelandic director! It sounds worse than it is!

Also James has hurt his back so he is not doing any if the physical stuff. It's sad because I was really getting into doing the show and we have had to change it. But at the end of it all James is the most important thing, I feel for him because he wants to do it all!!!!

I'm currently sitting in Strada and have ordered a pizza all to myself - I get so hungry after our shows. A bad habit I know but I'm a hungry Marion.

Today James and I recorded the love scene for Front Row, I enjoyed it so very very much and look forward to listening to it. My nan will have to tune in her 'wireless'.

Going to get up early - ish tomorrow and have a stroll along the river, and have a think about Martin, spend some time in my male persona. Oh to be a man!

Saw the first preview last Friday. Wonderful stuff. Loved every minute but wedding in the woods at the end would have been the icing on the cake. Sorry that James has hurt his back. Hope he recovers soon. The production must carry a high risk of injuries. Was the bandage on your thigh right at the beginning for effect or because you were injured too? Thanks and best wishes to the entire cast and crew for a fantastic show.

Yes I did injure myself, hence the bandage! Actually it was quite nasty... A grass burn at the top of my thigh. But the show must go on.
There is now a wedding in " the forest" - it was our first preview you came to see, we had not finished the show, as our lovely director explained at the beginning.
So do come back....

We just wanted to say that we saw the show last night and thought it was amazing! We thought Pierre was very funny, but thought everyone was really good. Is coming down the slide as fun as it looks, and was the water cold? Was it difficult swapping between playing a man and a woman? We thought you did it extremely well.

Saw the show a week ago, and it was utterly brilliant, I have booked to see it again in a couple of weeks! I hope James makes a full recovery so he can get physical again! One of the most enjoyable peices of theatre I've seen... I've done a blog on it myself http://leicestermark.blogspot.com/2011/11/heart-of-robin-hood-royal-shakespeare.html, brilliant performance by Iris and all involved! a MUST see.

Thanks everyone on your positive feedback on the show. The whole cast and creatives are working so hard to give you all the best show so it is lovely to get wonderful feedback.
Thank you
