London

So, after a week off, we are back to the world of the play. Lovely to see the Caesar family again. It is a little like a family. There are tensions and laughter. And love.

Getting started

August 24, 2012

I'd been excited to be rehearsing for Pericles since I got the go in April. From that point all other things, such as exams and holidays, were just passing time as I was waiting for this fantastic opportunity; the ability to work with the RSC and perform on one of their world famous stages.

Now that I've finally stopped asking myself why I'm here, what have I done to deserve this opportunity, and just accepted that I'm part of the RSC Amateur Ensemble, we arrive at the first week of rehearsals

Week 20: Crane Pains

This week has been much like the hundreds of Indian weddings I've attended. It's chaos as the preparations come together. Everyone has doubts whether it will actually happen. And then, the minute the lights go on, and the band starts to play, all the pieces fall into place, and everyone has a damn good time.

Traffic

It's time to get back to the hotel. As it is not very far away we decide to take one of the little tuk-tuk taxis, known here as hop-hops', for the way they lurch and jerk along like a rabbit trying to escape a fox.
