Penshurst Place Garden

January 31, 2012

6:2 'My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.'

The garden here was added to the house in the mid 16th Century by William Sydney – and as such it is now one of England's oldest private gardens.

I did not go into the garden but enjoyed looking in from the outside and the wall that kept unstructured nature outside. The 'garden inclosed' that the Song of Songs talks about.
