Every step of the way

February 10, 2012

actors moving in the rehearsal roomWell hello,

It's now week two of rehearsals and so much for blogging a little everyday. Apologies but it was all I could do to eat and think.

We covered a lot of ground last week. As the actors said and recognised, the move from reading text for structure and meaning leading to intellectual as opposed the physical understanding and engagement is huge. I read that back realised just how obvious it sounds, however the enormity of the task is not to be underestimated.

These great, willing, playful and enquiring actors are going with me every challenging step, curl, fold, extension, anatomical diagonal, and more, of the way.

The threads of the two main characters. Here you can see 'Beloved', with the image of the roe alongside to support and stimulate the movement work. Can you follow the thread through all the Beloveds?
