I, Cinna (The Poet) - Interactive webcast
Written and directed by Tim Crouch
We are offering schools a unique online opportunity to take part in the World Shakespeare Festival. On Monday 2 July, a filmed version of I, Cinna (The Poet) will be streamed exclusively to participating schools around the UK, followed by a live Q&A with the actor and writer, Tim Crouch.
This special event invites students aged 11+ to participate in a real-time nationwide project through which they can interact with other students across the country and the I, Cinna (The Poet) creative team.
During the course of the performance, Cinna will invite students to write poems with him; small poems on big themes. These poems can be reworked after the performance and sent to the RSC, where a web archive of responses to the play will be created.
There is a wraparound education programme supporting the webcast which will include detailed online resources and exercises for use in English or Citizenship lessons. These will explore I, Cinna (The Poet) and its source text, Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.
The webcast and supporting education resources offer your students a perfect first introduction to Shakespeare or can help students develop a deeper understanding of the play Julius Caesar.
Register your interest today and we will send you information on how to be part of this special, live World Shakespeare Festival education event.
