Directing Masterclass with Lyndsey Turner

Candide

Friday 4 - Saturday 5 October 2013, 10am-4pm
The Clore Learning Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon

Ideal for:  Drama and theatre arts teachers who want to connect with contemporary theatre practice.

A two day course with Lyndsey Turner investigating a variety of techniques for directing which can be transferred to work with young people.

Lyndsey is the Director of our production of Candide. She is an Associate Director at Sheffield Crucible, and has worked extensively with the Royal Court.

Using Lyndsey's work on Candide as a starting point, participants will tackle a range of theatre styles, from naturalism and expressionism, surrealism to classical.

Participants will explore how Lyndsey responded to the challenges of staging this exciting new play from Mark Ravenhill and how the techniques we use for our classical repertoire can be applied to modern writing.
