Sixth Form Conference: Richard II

RSC Education in partnership with Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning will be leading a Sixth Form Conference on Richard II. This conference is specially created to complement AS and A level English and Drama curricula.
During the day students will be able to meet members of the creative team, gaining an insight into the artistic decisions behind the production they will see in the evening.
Students will leave the day with a greater understanding of: the play in performance; the creative process of actors and the director; the range of interpretive choices that need to be made to bring the play to the stage; and an analysis of key scenes. Preparation materials will be available before the conference.
Workshops will include:
- A panel discussion with the RSC artistic teams about their inspiration for the production
- Practical drama sessions with the artistic team
- Textual study of key scenes Scene studies: practical demonstrations of the interpretive choices open to actors
- Voice session with members of the RSC Voice Department
£35 per student
Including ticket to evening performance of Richard II. One free adult place is provided (and required) for every ten students.
