Shakespeare Challenge
Young people can now gain their Bronze Arts Award through engaging with Shakespeare.
What is Arts Award?
Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Offered at levels 1, 2, and 3, Bronze, Silver, and Gold on the Qualifications and Credit Framework, Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. Inspired by the RSC's Stand up for Shakespeare Manifesto, The Shakespeare Challenge encourages participating young people to:
- Explore Shakespeare's text on their feet
- Engage with original language
- Watch a live performance
- Explore Shakespeare's relationship with the modern world
- Share their knowledge with their peers

Signing up to the Shakespeare Challenge is done through Arts Award.
If you are already an Arts Award centre
Download and use the resources available on the Arts Award website and when booking your moderation just select 'Shakespeare Challenge.'
If you aren't already a centre
In order to become an Arts Award Centre at least one member of your staf team will need to complete Arts Award advisor training. For more information visit the Arts Award website.
