Following the conclusion of The Histories at London's Roundhouse we begin our next voyage of discovery with a new ensemble of RSC actors coming together for two and a half years to further enhance our understanding of what makes great theatre.

By the time we celebrate our 50th anniversary year in 2011 the Ensemble will have developed a repertoire of unparalleled depth built upon the ambitions expressed in our Complete Works Festival, The Histories, and our 2008 Stratford Season.

Winter Season in 2010

Twelfth Night at the Duke of York's Theatre in London

Duke of York's Theatre
Following its run in Stratford-upon-Avon, Gregory Doran's production of Shakespeare's dark comedy Twelfth Night transfers to London's West End for a limited 10-week run at the Duke of York's Theatre. This production sees the RSC debuts of Richard Wilson as Malvolio and James Fleet as Sir Andrew Aguecheek.

Hampstead Theatre
In February 2010, we premiere two new plays at Hampstead Theatre, Dunsinane by David Greig directed by Roxana Silbert and The Gods Weep by Dennis Kelly directed by Maria Aberg.

In Newcastle

During our three week residency at the Theatre Royal, Rupert Goold directs Romeo and Juliet, followed by David Farr's King Lear and Michael Boyd's Antony and Cleopatra, as well as a very special Young People's Shakespeare version of Hamlet.
