Do you know your Shakespeare - or don't you? That's the question asks quizmaster Gyles Brandreth.

The Great Shakespeare Quiz

Do you know your Shakespeare - or don't you? That's the question. Or rather it will be on Sunday 29 April when two teams of seasoned players get together on the stage of The Courtyard Theatre for an hour of quick-fire quizzing all about every aspect of our favourite all-time genius. (Remember, he did it all with a feather - the man was amazing!)

Gyles Brandreth - quizmaster

The teams will include Sinead Cusack, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Antony Sher, Donald Sinden, Juliet Stevenson, David Warner and Michael Wood and the questions will cover every aspect of the Bard - his life and works. The Great Shakespeare Quiz is part of the RSC's annual Open Day - full details on the rest of the day's event can be found here.

4) Dead as a doornail
5) What the dickens

You're sharp. It's a trick question and you knew it. All five phrases occur in the great man's works - for goodness' sake! (And 'for goodness' sake' is there too.)
