Welcome to the As You Like It Play Guide, which we hope will prove of interest to teachers, students and wider audiences alike.

The guide has been written to complement the 2003 RSC production of As You Like It. Commentary in the first section therefore focuses primarily on this particular interpretation of the play.

The RSC is a company with a long and rich history of staging As You Like It and the Guide also includes information about past productions. It is illustrated throughout with archive photographs and interviews with directors and actors from a range of earlier interpretations.

We hope that the whole Guide will prove useful and informative to a wide readership. It has been divided into sections but we hope that you will feel free browse through it all.

For Students includes information on different rehearsal processes; the work of directors; design and fight choreography. We hope it will interest, not just to students.

For Teachers discusses themes in the play and contains a board game you might like to play.
