Fundraising placement

RSC Development is made up of five main divisions: Capital, Research, Annual Funds, Revenue and Stewardship.

Fundraising - Development Department (Ref: WP09)

The Development Team are principally involved in generating funds from partnerships with individuals, businesses, universities, trusts and foundations.

This income underpins the RSC's work both on and off the stage and plants seeds of ideas for exciting and pioneering ventures.

About the placement


This is predominantly a project based placement, working with various divisions of the Development Team. The successful candidate will therefore have the opportunity to gain experience in a range of fundraising activity. The type and scale of the project will depend upon the current focuses and demands within the department at the time of placement.

 

Criteria


We are looking for applicants who are committed to a career in fundraising.

Essential attributes:

  • Be a graduate, or be studying towards a degree or equivalent in Arts or Performance Management
  • Have a good knowledge of MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Possess high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Have the ability to act with integrity and to observe confidentiality
  • Possess first class communication skills
  • Solid administration skills.

Desirable attributes:

  • Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • Basic understanding of Data Protection Act
  • Knowledge of and passion for theatre.

Selection process


Stage 1 - Application form and written work.
Written Work: Prepare a 500 word proposal requesting support for a specific project of the RSC Learning programme and outlining opportunities for donor recognition and involvement

Stage 2 - Formal interview (Development Manager - Stewardship and the relevant project manager)

Stage 3 - Successful candidate begins placement
