RSC Collection is a registered museum with designated museum collections. The Collection is part of the RSC Learning Department and is made up of a Curator, a Curatorial Assistant, and a number of Collection Assistants.
Our collections include paintings, costumes, and theatrical ephemera. We have our displays at the RSC but also loan items and exhibitions to other institutions.

About the placement
This is predominantly a project-based work placement. The successful candidate will therefore have the opportunity to get involved in a number of projects centred on the current focuses and demands within the department at the time of placement.
All project work will involve elements of day to day working, to include:
- Assist with implementing collections and records management plans and procedures
- Liaison with the RSC Collection Curator and Curatorial Assistant
- Work in RSC Collection stores and other locations if required
- Assist Curator with administrative duties and mounting/dismounting displays
- Maintain high level of security for the collection by following museum standards.
Criteria
We are looking for applicants who are committed to a career in Museums or Art Galleries.
Essential attributes:
- Must be a graduate, or be studying towards a degree in History, Fine Art or Costume
- Excellent communication skills
- Self motivated
- Able to work on own initiative
- Numerate.
Desirable attributes:
- A keen interest and knowledge of Shakespeare and the Theatre.
