Writing competition winner announced
Finally by AC Smith wins the Tanika Gupta writing competition.
The competition was a challenge to write a 500-word scene for a play using a line provided by Tanika Gupta, author of our new play The Empress.
The scene could be about absolutely anything, but it had to include the line: 'Finally, you will pay for what you did to me.'
The winning entry is AC Smith's searing short play about the plight of women in war zones, entitled Finally.
The five runners-up are:
- Judgment by A Locke
- Coffee Morning by Catherine Lucy
- Imagining Stories by Alejandro Stepenberg
- Candygrams by Shirley King
- A Ragdoll's Revenge by Liam Tweddie
AC Smith will enjoy an experience day with the RSC. The runners-up will also receive merchandise from the RSC and our new writing partner, Cross.
