The Winter's Tale casting
Tara Fitzgerald makes her RSC debut as Hermione in our new production of The Winter's Tale.
Directed by Lucy Bailey, Tara will play opposite Jo Stone-Fewings, who takes the role of Leontes.
Tara has played a wide range of stage and screen roles, including the films Sirens (1993) and Brassed Off (1996).
She won the New York Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play as Ophelia in Hamlet (Almeida Theatre, 1995) and Best Actress Award at The Reims International Television Festival for Frenchman's Creek (1999).
More recely, she appeared in The Misanthrope (Comedy Theatre, 2009), A Doll's House (Donmar Warehouse, 2009) and Broken Glass (Vaudeville Theatre, 2011).
Tara plays Selyse Florent in season three of the TV drama Game of Thrones, which will be screened next year.
The Winter's Tale plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon from 24 January 2013, then tours.
