Royal Shakespeare Theatre wins architectural excellence award

The RST has been announced as one of the winners of a 2011 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Award.

The RST was one of two buildings in the Midlands to be recognised by RIBA for architectural excellence and one of 97 buildings in the UK and Europe to receive a 2011 RIBA Award.

The RIBA awards are judged on a regional basis and approved by a national awards jury. The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling prize, for the building of the year, will be selected from this year's 97 RIBA Award winners.
