Writer in Residence Mark Ravenhill 'In discussion'
Settle in to The Selfridges Library on the ground floor of Selfridges London, and join an informal discussion with the RSC's recently appointed Writer in Residence, playwright Mark Ravenhill.
Mark is best known in the UK for his controversial plays Shopping and F***ing and Mother Clap's Molly House, although he has had numerous other commissions and productions with the National Theatre, Traverse Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Lyric Hammersmith, Edinburgh Festival, Royal Court and Soho Theatre.
Mark's plays are also performed all over the world. He is currently under commission to the RSC and Hampstead Theatre and is writing a new libretto for the Norwegian National Opera. Read Mark's full biography.
RSC Artistic Director Michael Boyd said of Mark's appointment: 'Mark is deservedly one of Britain's most celebrated contemporary playwrights, who will bring a great questioning spirit and a fresh theatrical intelligence to the company. I can't wait to work with him and see his two commissioned works that we have planned as part of his time with the RSC.'
Mark will be in discussion with RSC Literary Manager Pippa Hill, part of the successful team whose current productions include Matilda the Musical in the West End, Written on the Heart by David Edgar and Heresy of Love by Helen Edmundson.
