BBC daytime drama on location at the RSC

Doctors-243x317

New episodes of the award-winning BBC One daytime drama Doctors were filmed at the RSC this week.

Cast and crew from the Midlands based medical drama, which follows the lives and loves of staff and patients at the fictional Mill Health Centre, descended on Stratford-upon-Avon to film a series of stories involving King Lear, Hamlet and a whole host of other Shakespearean characters.

Combining plot lines and themes from the playwright's work, the episodes being filmed at the RSC make up five special instalments, all with a Shakespearean theme, which are to be broadcast in April.

This year's World Shakespeare Festival forms the backdrop to the storyline and filming took place on location in and around the RSC on a gloriously sunny but freezing cold day.

Doctors is broadcast Monday to Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One. The Shakespearean themed episodes of Doctors will be broadcast from Monday 23 April 2012 to Friday 27 April 2012.
