Broadcasting live

More than 60,000 people watched Richard II in 364 cinemas across the UK last night - our first broadcast live from Stratford-upon-Avon.

We also broadcast to Canada and northern Europe. There will be further encore broadcasts in the UK and around the world in the coming weeks and months. At least a further 20,000 people in the UK have tickets for these broadcasts.

Judging from the feedback we've received so far, people up and down the country really enjoyed the experience. We trended on Twitter in the UK, during the interval with #RSCRichardII.

Sharing the live experience
In the run-up to the live broadcast we shared some exclusive behind the scenes pictures and videos on our social media channels. And we really enjoyed seeing what people shared with us in return. You can see some of the highlights on the Broadcast night page Onscreen website. Please keep Tweeting and sharing your thoughts using #RSCRichardII.

What did you think?
If you have more detailed feedback you'd like to share, we've just published a survey which you can find by visiting Tell us all about your experience – good or bad – so that we can make the next Live From Stratford-upon-Avon broadcasts even better.

Missed it? Don't panic
If you didn't manage to catch a screening last night don't worry. There are encore screenings happening up and down the country - in many cinemas these are happening as soon as 19 November. Find a cinema near you and book your ticket at the Onscreen website.

Screenings around the world
There are also broadcasts for countries around the world coming up. This information is also on the Onscreen website. And if you're in the US and can't see a screening near to you, you can use the Tugg website to organise your own. Find out more on our Richard II Tugg page here.

And there's more
For over 34,000 school children there will be the chance to see a live broadcast in their classroom on Friday 15 November through our schools broadcast.

And if you saw Richard II and can't wait to find out what happens next, you can book our productions of Henry IV parts 1 and 2, which are on sale now for 2014. You can enjoy the live theatre experience here with us in Stratford-upon-Avon or at a cinema near you.

Live from Stratford-upon-Avon is generously supported by CHK CHARITIES LIMITED, the SIDNEY E. FRANK FOUNDATION and THE GREAT BRITAIN SASAKAWA FOUNDATION as part of JAPAN400.
