Boot camp for young actors

ideastap-workshop-2013-243x317

This month 24 young actors will be coming to Stratford-upon-Avon for a boot camp weekend of training.

They were selected by the charity IdeasTap, which helps young creative people at the start of their careers.

More than 690 people applied to take part, with 500 selected for a series of masterclasses to help them develop their skills and choose the 24 actors who would benefit most from the boot camp weekend.

From 16 to 18 August, they will work with RSC practitioners, receiving training on text, rhetoric, Elizabethan movement, scene studies, singing and Greek chorus.

There will also be a chance to see productions in both the Swan and Royal Shakespeare Theatres and to meet people working at the RSC.
