Creative Journeys is a free event we are holding in collaboration with Creative Alliance on 9th May to give young people a chance to explore and unravel information about careers in the creative and cultural sector.
With four main subject areas to choose from: art & design, performance, digital and music, participants will get the lowdown about the sector directly from people who are currently in the industry; people who run their own businesses and those who work on a freelance basis.
The day starts at 9am and will include workshops with an introduction by each speaker, an opportunity for a Q&A and a short practical activity. There are three representatives for each subject area so each student will participate in three different workshops within their chosen subject area.
The Marketplace will provide the opportunity for local colleges, youth projects, programmes and similar to promote themselves to their target audiences. This will take place in the colonnade between the Swan bar and main ticket area of the RSC and there will be space for 6 stalls including one for the RSC. Before the workshops students will have a choice of options, they can either stay for some employability and CV workshops, opt for a backstage tour of the RSC or return to their schools and colleges.
There will be a reception desk in The Swan Foyer staffed by Creative Alliance and Creative Alliance will manage all bookings and prepare a pack for each school / college that has booked.
