RSC recruits new Finance Director

21 February 2013

The RSC has recruited a new Finance Director, Stephen Eames, who will take up his role on 15 April, following the departure of Andrew Parker, who has become Treasurer at Somerville College, Oxford.

Stephen is currently Deputy Finance Director at Southbank Centre, and has held previous roles in the arts, including Financial Controller at English National Opera, and in the charity sector, as Director of Finance at The Fostering Network, and as a commercial Project Accountant. He qualified at Coopers & Lybrand and has a degree in Law.

Catherine Mallyon, RSC Executive Director, said; “I am delighted to be able to announce the appointment of Stephen Eames as our new Finance Director. As you would expect, we undertook a rigorous selection process and had an extremely strong field of candidates. Stephen has a great breadth of experience and a strong track record in the arts. I am sure he will make a very positive contribution to the RSC, helping us develop further in many different areas.”

Stephen Eames said: “I feel privileged to be joining one of the nation's greatest arts companies at such an exciting moment and am looking forward enormously to working with Gregory Doran, Catherine Mallyon and the team. These are challenging financial times and I am very much looking forward to supporting the Company to deliver its ambitions within a strong financial framework.”
