February half term activities

This February Half Term (Mon 18 – Fri 22 February) the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon is offering audiences and visitors activities for all the family to find out more about making theatre. Workshops include creating a Shakespeare play in a day, stage fighting, how fake wounds are created in stage make up demonstrations, voice workshops and a chance to see behind the scenes with a theatre tour. The Icebook, a miniature theatre show made of paper and light is on every day, plus the very best of British food serving lunch and dinner at the Rooftop Restaurant.

Play in a Day
Join us to create your own interpretation of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale and perform to friends and family.

The Icebook
Presented by Davy and Kristin McGuire
The Icebook is a miniature theatre show made of paper and light. Using fragile paper cut outs and video projection, The Icebook fuses animation, book art and performance to create an intimate and immersive experience. With a running time of 20 minutes, The Icebook is designed for audiences of up to 12 people.

Tower
Take a trip up the Tower to experience an alternative view across Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond. A lift will take you up to the viewing platform and, as you descend via the stairs, you will discover an exhibition installed on the walls and in the alcoves.The Tower is open daily from 10am until 4pm. Please note the Tower may be closed around Matinee performances in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Tara Fitzgerald makes her RSC debut in the role of Hermione in a new production of The Winter's Tale directed by Lucy Bailey in The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. Shakespeare's tale of jealousy and forgiveness also sees the return of RSC Associate Artist, Jo Stone-Fewings in the role of Leontes and the RSC debut of Rakie Ayola as Paulina. Music for the production is composed by Jon Boden, lead singer and founder member of contemporary folk band, Bellowhead.
