Lady Susie Sainsbury

Susie is Deputy Chair of the RSC and Chair of RSC America, Inc.

She began her publishing career in the international sales division of Oxford University Press before joining Jonathan Cape, where she worked first as Editor and then Commissioning Editor for Jackdaw Publications, its educational division. She became a Director of Jackdaw Publications before working as an editorial advisor on education for Walker Books.

She is Deputy Chair of the Royal Academy of Music and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She is also a member of the International Advisory Council and the Dean's Council of the School of Arts at Columbia University, New York, a member of the James Madison Council of the Library of Congress, Washington DC, and a member of the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts International Committee for Arts, Washington DC.

Susie was awarded a CBE for services to the RSC and to the arts in June 2010 and was presented with the Prince of Wales Medal for Arts Philanthropy by HRH Prince Charles in November 2014.
