The model box showing

The presentation of the model box (a scale model of the set) is a crucial moment in any production's life. Run by the designer and director, in this case Emma Rice and Vicki Mortimer, it is first time the various departments including technical, wardrobe, wigs, lighting and sound see the production design.

They can now begin to work out how they will create the world imagined by Emma and Vicki - whether it be building four metal shipping containers that do not actually weigh the same as the real thing, creating antique fairground illuminations from scratch or ensuring the costumes and make up are accurate to the period, in this case the 1970s.
