Shakespeare explores the sexual politics of marriage.

The Taming of the Shrew directed by Conall Morrison

The flamboyant Petruchio wins the hand in marriage of the unruly Kate. Will his unconventional methods succeed in curing her temper and scolding tongue? Shakespeare explores the sexual politics of marriage. Michelle Gomez joins the company for the first time to play Kate. She is perhaps best known for her role in the Channel 4 comedy Green Wing, while her most recent stage appearance was in the acclaimed West End production of Boeing Boeing at The Comedy Theatre. Conall is an Associate Artist of the Abbey Theatre Dublin and has worked at numerous theatres including the Lyric Theatre Belfast and the National Theatre. His directing credits include Ibsen’s Ghosts, his own adaptation of The Bacchae of Baghdad and productions of The Tempest and Measure for Measure.
