Situated in the heart of England on the banks of the Avon, Stratford-upon-Avon attracts visitors from all over the world. The town’s central location makes Stratford-upon-Avon simple to travel to by road and rail or for those travelling from further afield, Birmingham Airport is close by.
Travelling by car
Only ten minutes from Junction 15, the M40 links Stratford with London, Birmingham and all points along the M40 corridor. The M40 links with the M42 to the north and the M25 to the south, which in turn give access to the M5, M6 and M4.
Whether travelling from the north or the south, Stratford-upon-Avon is clearly signposted from Junction 15, on the A46 towards Stratford-upon-Avon and Alcester, and again on the A439 into Stratford-upon-Avon itself.
There are a limited number of car parking spaces outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, but numerous spaces in the Recreation Car Park on the south side of the River Avon and Church St. Car Park (open Mon - Fri, 6pm - midnight. Sat and bank holidays all day). All of the car parks operate a Pay and Display system.
Travelling by rail
